In Feburary 2004 Richard and I travelled to the Grand Caymens for a wedding of some very dear friends. While there, four of us ladies couldn't resist making a side trip to the Queen Elizabeth Botanic Park.
As we started down a path, we passed an adorable salmon colored cottage with a teal door. Continuing down the path we saw some lovely tropical plants - some of them in bloom. Although the day was very warm we toodled around enjoying each others company and
looking at
some of the unusual plants. A lot of the plants however, looked a bit stressed from an obvious lack of water. Perhaps we chose the wrong trail in the 65 acre park but I was somewhat disappointed in the lack of lushness. Frankly the gardens at the
villa we were staying at were much
more enjoyable (pictured at the bottom of this page). Although I absolutely enjoyed spending my day at the park with my friends (we'd probably have fun even in a junk yard), I would not go out of my way to revisit Queen Elizabeth Botanic Park again.

friends during this trip!
