Borage Ice Cubes
Occasion: Baby Shower
Difficulty: Easy but Time Consuming
Borage is an herb that tastes somewhat like cucumber. It's flowers are edible. I've never seen in the the grocery store but it grows quite easily from seed. These flowers change colors as they age. You can't tell from the picture but the blooms are blues, pinks, and purples.
I only had one heart shaped ice cube tray. I would go out every day and pick 12 borage flowers and make new cubes (putting the ones from the day before in a large freezer bag).
I removed the centers leaving just the petals themselves.
I hosted a tea for the baby shower and used these cubes in the tall tea glasses. They were a huge hit!
