I decided to make an edible centerpiece for a holiday party.
Using a Styrofoam tree that I covered in bib lettuce, I added
broccoli florets (which I had blanched) to give the tree texture.
I used edible flowers and grape tomatoes for ornaments and a
slice of star fruit for a tree topper. All of this was stuck
to the tree with toothpicks.
For snow under the tree I used cauliflower florets (also blanched).
I made olive penguins (which I will never make again - to
much work for too little gain) which were cute to be carolers under the
tree. The centerpiece was a hit - in fact, it was used by a
friend who was having a holiday affair at her house the next day.
